  4. It is with a very heavy heart I am posting this. For those of you that haven’t heard on Monday we lost Kevin Seuthe, my good friend and studio manager to complications from pneumonia. He was the general manager for my studio for over 20 years and he will be greatly missed! In the last few months he was having a lot of problems with his knees, and any of you who knew him were aware that he was in a tremendous amount of pain; I think he is in a much better place now…. he is a christian man with a good heart!

  6. For Better or Worse - CONTEST!

For many of us the saying “for better or worse” applies only to wedding vows, however, it recently came to my mind when looking at portraits of high schools seniors long ago.  It is interesting to see what some of the most prominent figures of our great nation looked like as youths, still with only dreams of who they will one day become.  Good, bad, or tragic these portraits are still with them and their families decades later.  As the future leaders of our country, what will people see when they look back at your portraits?

Above are the senior portraits of a few prominent Americans, can you figure out who’s who?  Post your guess on our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/William-Edwards-Photography/107668949313888) - the first to get them all right gets their choice of a personalized iPod photo case, photo dog tags, or photo key chain!

  9. “Last Monday, I decided to take my boyfriend to Universal Studios for his birthday. I’m no stranger to the park, so while we were there, my mind began to wander quite a bit. Most of it was about the world famous Hollywood sign. I’ve seen the sign before, while driving down Highland, at the Griffith Observatory, and other random locations that were pretty far away.  But I had never seen it up close.  I asked my boyfriend if he has ever seen the sign up close, and he replied with “I actually have never seen it at all” So I knew right then, we were on a mission. We began to Google everything about viewing the sign; best locations, trails, backyards even.  And we came upon a blog article that gave us photos of others that have been in that location in the past. The view was seriously breath-taking.  So off we went. Down a few VERY narrow windy roads, up hillsides and up more steep windy roads, we climbed higher and higher into the Hollywood hills. The sun had gone down hours before, and there were no streetlights, no other vehicles, not anything. Besides my headlights beaming only a few yards in front of me, it was pitch black driving through this uncanny terrain, Which almost seemed to be straight out of a horror flick.  In a few minutes time my GPS started talking, it said “arriving at destination on left” I looked to my left, and honestly, it was hard to make out at first, but as I crept closer…. It all became clear.  I literally screamed, it was less than 1,000 feet in front of me. So close, that if it were daylight, I could see the cracks in the paint, most likely. The sign itself measures 45 ft. tall, and 350 ft. across. This is actually kind of frightening in the dead of night, as it looks so friendly in the day. We parked for a few minutes and attempted a few night time photography shots. They turned out not exactly how we imaged, but we were definitely impressed with the size of the thing. So many Hollywood secrets so many generations and decades that sign has beamed way up there on Mt. Lee. It is kind of inspirational in a way. I love Hollywood, the whole magic of Film and what it’s grown into today. I’m definitely going back to that location soon.”
